<itunes:summary>If yoursquo;ve been watching television, particular CNN, Issue #1 is the economy. Itrsquo;s everywhere. People are talking about it everywhere.

Not only is it in the media, you go to the coffee shops, they are talking about it. They are talking about it in the living room, in the dining room, in the break room at work. If you go to the grocery store, they are making some comments about the economy!

Now, Irsquo;m not an economist. There are a lot of things I donrsquo;t understand about the economy. But my question is, where is the money? Yeah, whatever happened to the money? Ok, do you remember the commercial for Wendyrsquo;s? Wherersquo;s the beef? Wherersquo;s the money?

I know they didnrsquo;t pile up all the money and set it on fire. The money didnrsquo;t vanish. A few companies went under, but they still had billions of dollars of assets and some cash.

What happened to the cash? What happened to the assets?

The earth didnrsquo;t open up and the assets went under. I know that didnrsquo;t happen. Ok, some of you lost some of your money. If you were fortunate enough you had a portfolio and your money was in mutual funds. Chances are you lost what about 25-30% of your money, correct.

Or if your money was in the stock market you probably lost 50% of your money. Maybe you lost everything depending on where your money was invested in the stock markets.

Why is it that people are not spending money?

Letrsquo;s face it, letrsquo;s look at it this way. Your job, if you are working somewhere, is still paying you your check. Okay, depending on what company you are working with, maybe you donrsquo;t have a job. But for the most part, at least the people I talk to, they have a job.

They get a paycheck every week. If your money was in the bank, lets say you had $5000 in the bank, it didnrsquo;t go anywhere, and you didnrsquo;t lose anything from that money.

Why is it people are not spending that money?

Why are they still getting a paycheck, but not buying more? Whatrsquo;s going on in the economy? Let me tell you, I think it is FEAR! Fear is the reason why all of this is going on.

Most people are paralyzed--emotionally and mentally.  They are in a state of inertia. To them, things are still. Now I can understand a state of inertia when it comes to our money. Buthellip;

A state of inertia when it comes to our dreams? I donrsquo;t understand it. I really donrsquo;t. I know this is a time to put your money on hold. But, we should not put your dreams or your goals on hold.

Ok, if you own a small business, I know you are hurting. As a small business myself, I sympathize with you. You see, we are always the first ones to feel the pinch of a bad economy. We feel the impact first.

However, I want to say this to you. The problem is not in our small businesses. The problem is not in the economy. The problem is head.
The Law Of Cause And Effect
You see, the things outside of us are effects. The cause is our mind. The state of you business, your car, home, bank account and all are all effects. Our mind produces those effects. If we want to change what we have, we have to change the thoughts we entertains.

I was talking to a coaching client on the phone. She has a business on the Internet. We spoke for about 70 minutes. Maritza never mentioned the economy once during the conversation.

She kept talking about how well her business is doing and how much money she is making. She didnrsquo;t say anything about the economy. You know why? Itrsquo;s because she is not focusing on it. Her mind is too busy thinking the thoughts that create better results.

Simply put, shersquo;s too busy following her plans, strategies, dreams, and goals.
My friend, you donrsquo;t have to participate in a bad economy. Itrsquo;s a choice that you make.

Irsquo;m not saying everything is rosy. I understand whatrsquo;s going on. However, there are a bunch of people who are going to be millionaires as a r...</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>As usual I want to begin by saying it's been a while. But I do remember what I did promise you the last time.

I promised to share with how you can get whatever you want when you ask for it. That's a great tool to have at your disposal.
See The Video #62;#62; Click Orphanage Video#60;#60;

As I mentioned to you the last time, I was in my village last December. A man came to me and asked me for some money. I don't recall how much it was but I do know it was a ridiculous amount.

I say ridiculous because the man is not a family member. I don't even know him. Apparently he is not from my village.

I said to him, "you must be kidding? Aren't you?" He went on to tell me that he was serious. Then he proceeded to share with a whole list of problems.

He was on to something.

Once he noticed that he was not going to get what he asked for, he immediately lower his request by something like 75%.

That sounded very doable to me. Without a flinch, I gave him the money. He was happy.

Well, 15 minutes later, it downed on me that the man used a very powerful strategies I had learned years ago. I picked it up while I was devouring books at the public library.

Are you ready to learn what that strategy is? Great!

Here it is...

It's the law of comparison or contrast if you will. The way it works is very simple. And you can start using it today.

When you want something, always ask for something much bigger. Let's say you need to borrow $1,000 dollars from a friend. You might want to ask for $7,000 or more.

Once your friend flinches, you automatically drop your request to $1,000. You see, the mind must have options before it can compare and decide.

Supposed you want a raise? Instead of asking for what you want, ask for far more than you think you can get.

Then drop your request significantly. You'll have a far better chance in getting what you want.

Simply put, always plant a big number in the person's brain before you drop the lower number.

Make sense?

It's like in business. You ask for a high price. Then you lower it on the spot to a price that's ridiculously low. That's called "the irresistible offer".

Remember the television ad? Yeah, the price for today is $900. But if you act today, you can get this, that and the other for only $97.

When Ugly Isn't That Ugly After All.

Well, maybe your car is average to you now or somewhat ugly. But if you take that same car and put it next to a very ugly and beat car, you might notice that your average car is suddenly very beautiful.

Have you ever heard the saying that you never know what you have until you lose it? It's because you have to something to compare what you had with.

Alright, that's all I wanted to share with about this. Also I told you about the Christmas dinner I had with 28 kids at an orphanage in Haiti.

To them it was the best Christmas they've ever had. They thanked me profusely for giving them so much for that Christmas.

But in reality, I should be the one thanking them. They made that Christmas the best ever for me.

They sang, danced and performed for me. They hugged me and made me feel so appreciative.

So, I want to share with you one of the songs they sang that brought tears to my eyes.

Enjoy it!

I know. I know. It's been a while since you've heard from me. I think the last time we touched base was about a month ago. I do get lots of email from some of you asking me if I have been hiding. Hiding? No.

Let's Start the Conversation.
I want to know your feedback =#62;Click Here

I'm just out there seeking my pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and making a difference at the same time. I really love the making-a-difference part.

Talking about instant gratification! You get off stage, people in your audiences start telling you what they will do differently to change their current situation. You know what? Many times it's not because of something I said. It's because of something I didn't say.

It's because of something that makes them think of the solutions to their problems on their own. That's why I believe we each can be a catalyst for change. Of course, my speeches always, in some ways, communicate to the reader that if I can do it, you can, too. And, it's usually after they hear how I fought, battled and overcame poverty and sickness in tiny Haitian village.

Basically, I tell them enough excuses or trying to get your all ducks I a row. The situation is never going to get as right as you want it to be. I say to them. Just start now and perfect as you go.

How much more information do we need before we muster the courage to start? How much more information do we need before we can step into the light and go for the promotion; start the business; and do the things we are afraid of?

The answer is NONE.

Yes, you need solid and useful information to help get there faster. But you can acquire the information as you go. Does that make any sense to you? Yes?

Speaking of information...

Why is it that we are drawing in a sea of information yet we continue to starve for more? Why it is that we are so confused? If so much information is available to use for free, why then do we continue to beat a path to the guru's door?

There are several reasons.

You see, the mind is silly. We love free stuff but yet inherently we know free is not good. In fact most people judge quality based on whether what they are getting is free, cheap or expensive.

Here's what often happens to us: Since we can get so much information for free, we quickly dismiss it as useless. Another reason is the information we are getting often has no emotion to it. Or, shall I say no stickiness to it? There's not enough creative adaptation to it. It's not well organized. And it isn't in a format that fires up our inspiration engine.

Basically, it isn't so much about the message; it's about the messenger. And this is a whole topic in and of itself. The sad commentary about all of this is too much of useless, dull and uninspired information distracts us from focusing on really what matters. A good example is the email addiction. I know something about. Hey, I struggle with it, too.

Alright, on with something inspirational...

As you might recall, last December I told you I was going to Haiti to have Christmas dinner with 28 poor kids at an orphanage. Did I tell about that dinner already? Maybe not. My first stop was in a city called Cayes. There I visited an orphanage for three days in a row. Then I headed to my beloved village.

Since I didn't have the time to set up two dinners back to back, I decided to share some dinero money with my fellow villagers.

By the way, I have a very powerful technique I want to share with you next time. It's a persuasion technique to help you get what you ask for every time. A fellow villager tried it on me as if I didn't know what he was doing. Though, I kind of forgot about it until he laid it on me.

I'll make a note to share it with you next time. It's a psychological trigger. Hint: it's about the Law of comparison.

Anyway, It was the best Christmas ever for me! I had the time of my life with those kids. They s</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Alright, as you can tell, I am on a mission about this goal setting thing.

This is for your benefit and mine as well. We both need it.

I want to trigger something in your brain to energize you to get into the habit of writing and achieving goals.

Hereacirc;euro;trade;s the deal: On my last post or episode, if you are listening to this, I encouraged you to write down 25 goals that you want to accomplish in the New Year.

Many of you got stuck and experienced what is called acirc;euro;oelig;writeracirc;euro;trade;s blockacirc;euro;.

Now, if that's you, let me help jump start your imagination.

I created a list of possible goals for you. Of course, we each have different priorities. Nevertheless, my list will help steer you in the right direction.

I know that's what it did for me. But remember thisacirc;euro;brvbar;

Make sure you write down something you really want. Donacirc;euro;trade;t be like the kid who cries for toys at the toys store and donacirc;euro;trade;t even bother to look at them at home.

Basically, before you pray for something, make sure you want it in the first place.

Alright, hereacirc;euro;trade;s the list:

1.	Buy yourself a new home
2.	Remodel your existing home
3.	Get rid of clutter around your house or office
4.	Buy your parents a home
5.	Remodeling your parents home
6.	Spending more time bonding with your parents
7.	Forgive your parents for they did or what they didn't do.
8.	Buying yourself, your kid, or parent a new car
9.	Asking your boss for a raise
10.	Take 3 trips to Europe, the Caribbean or Africa this New Year
11.	Spend more time with your kids so that you donacirc;euro;trade;t regret not doing it later
12.	Be more involved with my kids education
13.	Spend more time with your grand parents
14.	Organizing your office
15.	Delegate more often and focus on what you are really good at.
16.	Get out of the way and allow others to do their work.
17.	Learn to stop controlling others.
18.	Mastering the art of prospecting, presenting and following to boost your sales
19.	Get rid of your toxic friends
20.	Fall in love with your ideal soul mate
21.	Say I love you to your significant others more often
22.	Complain less and be more grateful
23.	Read one hour every day about how to get better in your field.
24.	Attend 2 seminars to improve your skills and add more value to your work.
25.	Become a better listeneracirc;euro;brvbar; God gives us 2 ears and 1 mouth so that we can listen more
26.	Be a better communicator
27.	Join Toastmasters International to learn to improve your speaking skills
28.	Become more computer literateacirc;euro;brvbar; Learn that new software at work
29.	Take a writing class and practice your writing skills.
30.	Write your first or second book this New Year
31.	Finish the book you started a while back
32.	Make the sacrifice and start my business
33.	Spend more time communicating with your spouse to make your marriage work
34.	Give up some bad habits like smoking, or drinking
35.	Reconnect with my maker and go to church more often
36.	Meditate for 15 minutes every day
37.	Stop procrastination and become a do-it-now-type of person
38.	Become a better time manager and stop hanging out with time wasters
39.	Force yourself to write and achieve goals
40.	Be more punctualacirc;euro;brvbar; Show when you say you are going to show up
41.	Finish what I started and never finish
42.	Stop being too selfish and be more considerate of other peopleacirc;euro;trade;s feelings
43.	Be more diplomatic and tactic when dealing with others and stop being mean
44.	Change your eating habits, workout daily to get back in shape
45.	Volunteer my time to serve in some capacity in the association you belong to
46.	Reconnect and stay in touch more often with my friends and past clients.
47.	Forgive everyone and release your grudges for good

My friend, be a person of resolve. Do what you say you are going to do.

<itunes:summary>I recorded this month's segment for you. Click on the play button above. If you can't hear it, just scroll down to read it.

Let's Start the Conversation. What's your must?=Click Here

This is probably the last conversation that I will have with you because itacirc;euro;trade;s December and the year is about to end.

Well, I have a powerful secret that can make this New Year far more productive for you than the last 5 years. This one tip that I will share with you will help you accomplish things faster.

Itacirc;euro;trade;s actually one word!

And youacirc;euro;trade;ll be amazed at how effective that word can boost your productivity. Trust me, Iacirc;euro;trade;ve been using that one word and, Iacirc;euro;trade;ve seen major results in my life.

But first, I have a question for you.

Did you set new goals for this year? Did you sit down in December, October, or any time and write a list of goals that you wanted to accomplish?

Well, if you did, congratulations! The very fact that you sat down and wrote some goals moved you to the top 3% of the population. Thatacirc;euro;trade;s right, only 3% of us write down goals. Letacirc;euro;trade;s me say to you that are part of a distinguished groupacirc;euro;brvbar; the elite.

If you didnacirc;euro;trade;t take the time to write down your goals perhaps it has something to do with your fears. And there are several reasons for those fears.

One of them is a fear of failure. You think about a particular goal you want to accomplish and you begin to feel a sense of inadequacy.

Somehow, you think you wonacirc;euro;trade;t be able to accomplish your goals. The reality is no one wants to walk around feeling like a failure, right?

Another reason is because you might think itacirc;euro;trade;s too clichAtilde;copy;. Itacirc;euro;trade;s kind of like hearing something so many times and the mind blocks it out. Another reason people donacirc;euro;trade;t set goals is simply because they are procrastinators.

If thatacirc;euro;trade;s you, then you are one of those some-day-I-will types of people. Or you are one of those with a big but blocking the way.
You say, acirc;euro;oelig;I want to increase my income, butacirc;euro;brvbar;acirc;euro; or "I want to strengthen my relationships, but...acirc;euro; or "I want to pay off my debt butacirc;euro;brvbar;acirc;euro; acirc;euro;oelig;I want to save more money this year, butacirc;euro;brvbar;". We all use this language every now and then.

Just get your but out of the way!

Write down 25 goals you want to accomplish this New Year. If you feel like writing more, go for it. However, you must set smart goals.

I am sure youacirc;euro;trade;ve heard of this acronym before. SMART stands for:

Specific: You must know exactly what it is that you want. Itacirc;euro;trade;s not enough to pray for something abstractly. Youacirc;euro;trade;ve got to describe exactly what it is that you are praying for. Describe it in specific details. The more you can describe it, the faster you can accomplish it.

Measurable: It is said that what can be measured can be improved. It should be measurable in a way that you know where you are on the journey and what you can do to improve.

Achievable: You may have to stretch a bit to reach your goal. But itacirc;euro;trade;s achievable or attainable.

If you are out of work and heavily in debt right now, donacirc;euro;trade;t set a goal to be a millionaire by the end of the year. Focusing on such long range and potentially impractical aims can misguide you and steal your enthusiasm.

Itacirc;euro;trade;s great to dream the impossible dream but set realistic goals to achieve the dream.

Rewarding: Make sure itacirc;euro;trade;s something thatacirc;euro;trade;s fulfilling and rewarding. Like Steven Covey says in his book, lean the ladder on the right building before you start climbing. Donacirc;euro;trade;t do it because you want to c...</itunes:summary>
