Alright, as you can tell, I am on a mission about this goal setting thing.

This is for your benefit and mine as well. We both need it.

I want to trigger something in your brain to energize you to get into the habit of writing and achieving goals.

Here’s the deal: On my last post or episode, if you are listening to this, I encouraged you to write down 25 goals that you want to accomplish in the New Year.

Many of you got stuck and experienced what is called “writer’s block”.

Now, if that’s you, let me help jump start your imagination. (more…)

Do What You Really Love!

Work! Work!

Tomorrow I am flying to Monroe, Louisiana to keynote a conference for 500 university students.

I usually get to speak for corporate clients. But once in a while, I get to share my message with students. It’s always a treat for me.

Anyway, I started saying work, work, work. I want to make a point here. Since I left my last job, I never work. You see, I absolutely love what I do. To me, it’s not work.

The key to success is do to what you really, really love. When that’s the case, you will bear the difficult moments with grace.

You may not make a lot of money to start with. But you will find strong reasons to persevere.

Invest In Yourself

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

Alright, is your financial situation so tight that you can’t afford to invest in learning how to get unstuck?

For many years I didn’t have the money either. I had to use my credit cards, take a second loan on my house just to attend seminars. Today, people think I am somewhat lucky. They just don’t know the sacrifice I had to make.

If you are serious about your dream, whatever it is, you need to (more…)

I Am Frustrated With My Book!

Friday, July 27th, 2007

So far this year I have traveled to many states to keynote conferences. It seems to me more and more people are requesting my book on CD. Basically, people are busier than ever and they don’t have enough time to read. To me, nothing beats having a physical book in my hands. I love turning pages. Besides, when I read, I get a chance to improve my English.

Anyway, I just hired a company to help me put my book Kick Your Excuses Goodbye on audio. We signed the contract. Now it’s up to me to choose which days I want to show up to start reading. It’s a very interesting experience for me. While in the studio, the sound engineer sits in front of a computer and monitors me on his headset.

When I stumble on a word, he indexes the location for editing. But there’s one major problem. (more…)

Advice to Potential Speakers

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

My advice to you is…

1- Go with a topic you are really passionate about. Let it come
our of your heart. Passion. Passion. If there’s something
that makes you mad; if you see injustice; If you just hope
some people would do a certain thing to get a certain
result, maybe you might want to explore that avenue.

Do your friends or family members call you all the time
for advice? Well, that’s a hint.

2- Anytime you get an opportunity to speak, do it.
Don’t focus about getting paid starting out.
If you are good and you are changing lives,
the money will definitely follow. You want the platform hours
as fast as you can.

3- Write a book to position you as an expert
in your field. Write it quick! Again, the book will
not make you money at first. But it’s worth every
ounce of effort you put into it. It will open many
doors for you.
